Still the most important words to get along in life: Please.  Thank you.

And with that said, “THANK YOU, GOD”  for the ½ inch of rain a couple of nights ago and another ½ inch last week!!  So we know it can still rain!  Not any sign of grass greening up in the pastures, but it washed the dirt off of things, has given us a starting point, and my yard is very happy!

Dear Kim and Patricia,

You probably won’t remember me, but I often think of you and your family and the wonderful time we spent with you on your ranch.

Several years ago, my mother Jimmie, my sister Dell, my son Taylor, and I spent our spring vacation at your ranch. It was the best vacation we had ever taken; certainly, the horses, the bonfires, the food, and the scenery, but most of all you and how you treated us.

We still speak of your faith, your kindness, and the relationship you had with each other.

Since we saw you last, our mother has passed away from cancer and my sister Dell was transferred to Germany with her job.

A new challenge has hit our family, and as I desperately search for solutions, you came to my mind. I have to believe it was divine intervention.

I hope you won’t think me presumptuous as I spill my heart out to you.

In February of this year, my husband was diagnosed with leukemia. We thought we had lost him in April, but he rallied and now, miracle of miracles, he is scheduled for a bone marrow transplant on August 18.

The transplant agreement requires that George spends 100 days in the hospital and that I stay with him as caregiver. The hospital is two hours away from our home and this is where I spill my heart. The good news is that our 17 year old son Taylor graduated from high school two weeks ago. The bad news is that he is extremely worried about his Dad and desperately needs a place where he could make a contribution and where I would know he is in a place with caring, God-fearing people.

This is where I come to my idea. Is there any way that you could take Taylor in?

Taylor grew up around animals and dearly loves them. I have no question that he could help you on the ranch. I am not talking about your paying Taylor a salary; rather, I am suggesting that my husband and I pay you for his room and board.

I realize that this is a most unusual request and that you need time to absorb all that I have told you. If this is something that you would consider, please email me, and I will get in touch with you by phone. I am praying daily for a solution to our situation. I look forward to the possibility of hearing from you.
